Acoustic Intervention in the Old RIA Hall

The task was to create an acoustic intervention within the old RIA hall that could transform the room’s soundscape at the push of a single button. Our approach involved inflating numerous balloons to effectively dampen the noise in the space. The unique properties of helium proved to be advantageous, as it shifts sound frequencies towards the higher spectrum, making them less perceptible to human ears. This simple yet effective method allows for a quiet environment to be achieved almost instantly, transforming the auditory experience of the room.
