IAB develops “The Note” as his diploma project

The project transforms
an underground parking garage beneath Dornacherplatz in Solothurn
into a concert hall for the city’s symphony orchestra.
Inside the 16-meter-deep concrete “bucket” of the former garage,
IAB inserts a free-standing elliptical concert hall.
A spiraling ramp guides visitors down through the structure
until audience and musicians finally meet at the stage.
“The Note” marks a turning point in IAB’s work
— the first project fully designed and generated through Grasshopper,
using visual programming to control geometry, structure, and spatial organization.
